Our Bathroom got a Facelift!

{ AFTER }

{ BEFORE }

A few of you have inquired about seeing the bathroom before and after. After removing the many layers of wallpaper and old paint, we were able to finally able to complete our bathroom with some fresh paint, a new shower curtain, new mirror and light fixture. I LOVE using traditional mirrors with a frame instead of the flat mirror that's typically in bathrooms.

oh, dallas!

So in my efforts to keep the animals off the new slipcover, I found that Dallas has snuck into a snuggly spot on the blanket. Couldn't resist this precious photo!

Cover It!

Well I'm excited to say that I finally got my long-awaited slipcover completed for my Nana's cream couch in the piano room. I have to say it looks FABULOUS! The Seeger girls were a pleasure to work with and provided such a great product! Now my room is finally starting to look completed...well, except for the Christmas tree that needs to be ditched by the hubby! If you live in the Savannah area and want a custom slipcover made for any piece of furniture , contact Elizabeth Seeger at Satchel! She can do couches, chairs, parson chairs, just about anything! It's a great way to update an antique or hand-me-down, and you can easily remove them for washing. Elizabeth also does custom handbags that are as beautiful as they are practical.

Music to Remember

So when 2am came around on NYE night, my friends and I found ourselves singing along with an infomercial about the Easy Rock Music Collection. We must have sat entranced in the play list for at least half an hour while eating our standard frozen pizza after a long day of celebration. My hubby and I finally came in the office today and downloaded the selections of our choice in iTunes of course, but what a great play list it made! The songs remind of us growing up cruisin' in our parent's cars, Patrick sitting through his mom's aerobics classes that she taught or as I remember most, playing on the radio at the dentist office on B98.5 in Atlanta.... Check out the play list here : http://www.musicspace.com/product.aspx?productcode=MS4380 I didn't remember some of the titles until we replayed them and wow, such memories!

Fabulous Margarita Recipe

So my dear friend, Larcie, shared this yummerlicious (yes, I totally just made up that word!) for margaritas. If you're like me, you may grow a little tired of the typical margaritas from Mexican restaurants made mostly of sugar elixirs, maybe with a little tequila thrown in the mix for good measure. I really think my buzz originates from the sugar high I receive rather than a good tequila - such a shame! Anyway, here's the recipe and boy is it YUM! Don't ask me how it's so good because of the random ingredients, it just works!

1 can frozen limeade
1 bottle Corona Light Beer
1 can diet 7-Up
8 ounces Tequila

Stir and enjoy in a fabulous margarita glass of your choice or in my house, a classic Tervis Tumbler!

A few of my favorite photo cards...

So this year, I ventured into the photo card world and created a couple of cute (if I have to say so myself) cards for a couple of friends. Check them out! That precious little girl is the daughter of my friend Sarah Buck. Check out her fabulous work at http://www.sarahbuckphotography.com/ . The took our photo this year as you saw before! Love her to pieces! Her blog is super fun, too! http://www.audreybuck.blogspot.com/ The other friends are my newlyweds, Scotti and Matthew & Brooke and Andy!

Label It!

So of course, no one in my life is surprise by this, but I always do personalized holiday labels for our packages. This year, I chose to do a "winter berry" effect and created our last initial. It turned out really cute on our wrapping paper that I found at Target this year. A mix between different polka dots, bold stripes and grosgrain ribbon, this might have been my favorite year for fabulous wrap!

Ho Ho Ho!

Christmastime is my favorite time of the year! Since I work in retail, Christmas doesn't really seem to end since we begin working on next Christmas after this Christmas is over! But, I DO enjoy when the actual season gets here because you get to enjoy what the season is really about - family, friends, spending time together, baking treats for the people in your life, helping the less fortunate and of course, that little baby Jesus! We have a few collections going on in our house that you see 1) our Nutcracker collection or what we like to call "Our Army!" 2) Patrick's Dicken's Village that his mom started when he was young, 3) the many entertaining pieces that I've collected over the years and 4) our little Irish Angels. Enjoy!

It's finally starting to look a lot like Christmas!

So we finally got around to doing our Christmas card which I will be scurrying around to get in the mail Monday morning! My dear friend, Sarah Buck, took our quickie pic in her back yard and it turned out fabulous! I designed it of course based on my hubby's shirt.
