mommies and mimosas

A friend of mine asked me to help her with an invitation for her friend's baby shower. The Mommy-to-Be didn't want a hokey baby shower type party, but more of a sophisticated brunch with mimosas. This is what we came up with - I especially loved the pacifier on the edge of the champagne glass!

Irish fun in Savannah

So my hubby's family is a large Irish family here in Savannah. One of the perks about being an irish family is getting a spot in the annual parade. Every year, all of the men get together and work on the float. They are quite the woodworkers so creating this little ride comes easy to them! Here are a couple of snapshots from the day.

The Family Float with the crest and hand carved celtic cross representing County Cork in Ireland where the McCarthy's are from originally.

The start of the parade from our seats. The Cathedral in the background is where we were married! Mable Cakes was married there, too!

Patrick and his Uncle putting the decorations on the float. The float used to be much larger when all of the kids are smaller - now it's pretty small since everyone has grown up!

Oh, Capri!

So...my favorite place that I've visited abroad is Capri, Italy. For those of you who haven't been yet - add it to your bucket list! This luxurious mediterranean escape is a hidden gem! Located off the coast of Sorrento and Naples, Italy, Capri is the epitome of an ultimate chic getaway. Just a few favorites of the island...

and I'm sure some of you saw the wedding story about Apprentice Winner, Bill Rancic and E! News anchor, Giuliana DePandi in Capri.

Capri is known for it's Limoncello - a sipping liquor made from infusing lemon peels with vodka and it's so yummy. Mix with sprite or tonic water - this makes a refreshing cocktail for summer. I made some for my dad's Christmas gift 2 years ago and this recipe from Martha Stewart is perfect!

Also, made from lemons is my favorite perfume which is so hard to come by in the states, but worth it! It's a company called Carthusia. We actually visited the shop and factory where they make all of their fragrances on site from the resources of the island.

Famous for the Blue Grotto, a small cave can be entered by boat and here's what you see...breathtaking:

Jumping into Spring

So I usually pick one new Spring Fashion to dive into and this year, I've decided on Jumpsuits. Yes...I know, the word "Jumpsuit" makes me think of the denim version that my second grade teacher wore with apples and school buses embroidered all over. Well - these aren't the same thing and I'm pretty excited about wearing these this year!
I just think this would so super cute with gold flats and gold/black accessories...

(Shown: Jumpsuit by Express, Sandal by Michael Kors, Cuff Bracelet by Tory Burch)

OR I thought the shorts version would be so sassy with fun accessories at night...

This is one of my favorite colors and and I'm pumped about wearing it with lots of gold!

Nautical Themed Rehearsal Dinner

Here's another invitation I just completed for a couple who's Rehearsal Dinner theme is nautical chic! The other small card shown reads "Thanks for making our day glow!" and they are attaching these to glow sticks for when they leave the wedding - such a good idea!
