So my hubby's family is a large Irish family here in Savannah. One of the perks about being an irish family is getting a spot in the annual parade. Every year, all of the men get together and work on the float. They are quite the woodworkers so creating this little ride comes easy to them! Here are a couple of snapshots from the day.

The start of the parade from our seats. The Cathedral in the background is where we were married!
Mable Cakes was married there, too!
My handsome Irishman and I!

Patrick and his Uncle putting the decorations on the float. The float used to be much larger when all of the kids are smaller - now it's pretty small since everyone has grown up!
Thanks for the photos, they were a delight to behold (and my daughter got married in the gorgeous cathedral too!).
ReplyDeleteReally miss the festivities around St. Patrick's Day in Savannah; always way too many parties to attend, too much corn beef and cabbage to eat, and too much green beer to drink!
Yea!!! St. Patricks Day photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun...I've lived within a couple of hours of Savannah my whole life and have never experienced St. Patrick's Day. Maybe next year...

ReplyDeleteYour outfit is too die for! You are just precious!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! Being from an Irish clan myself, my family and I must will have to make it down to Savannah someday for the parade.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who lives in Cork and I was lucky enough to visit her for a weekend eons ago. It's absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteYey for the Irish! I am 1/8 Irish - and those Irish genes have come out in my son good and proper - red hair, green eyes, pale skin, and a feisty nature - and he's only 1/18! Go red heads! :)
